In the 1990’s he created one of the most successful maternal-fetal medicine practices in Dallas, which he eventually sold to a physician practice management firm, after which he joined the faculty of UT Southwestern Medical School.
Upon leaving academic medicine, Dr. Magee’s dream was to create a multidisciplinary practice focused exclusively on the management of high-risk pregnancies, which has now been realized at the Fetal Care Center Dallas.
In 2018, world-renowned fetal surgeon Dr. Timothy Crombleholme joined Fetal Care Center Dallas. In 2011, he was named the president of the International Fetal and Surgery Society and co-authored Fetology: Diagnosis and Management of the Fetal Patient, considered the gold standard textbook in this field. He has performed more than 1,200 fetal surgeries.
Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) is a birth defect in which the diaphragm, the muscle that helps us breath and separates the chest from the abdomen, does not develop normally on one side. As part of a clinical research study approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Institutional Review Board at Medical City Children’s Hospital the Fetal Care Center of Dallas is offering FETO as a treatment option to babies with severe CDH.
