Umbilical Doppler Studies

Non-invasive Doppler technology is used in fetal medicine to evaluate changes in sound waves to provide information about the direction and velocity of blood flowing through the uterus, umbilical artery and heart. Using this technology in relation to time, characteristics of blood flow in you and your fetus can be measured that may detect the presence of intrauterine growth restriction, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome or another condition.
